What a fantastic museum. I went with my husband who grew up there. It was an absolute treat. Packed full of memories for him. Totally recommend it. So many kid friendly activities. A highlight of Kaikoura.

Quite a cool layout, very friendly staff. There's a lot of local history and it's all very clearly named for what it is and where it's from etc. Was a very good rainy day activity with a 2 year old and was interactive enough to keep him happy.

nice little museum, which has clearly had a lot of effort put into the displays and presentation of the items. wasn't very busy when we visited, so there was no rush to look through everything and had a very relaxed atmosphere. good place to get out of the sun in the middle of the day.
